WKAR's Legacy of Innovation Exhibit
I was so lucky to be part of the team that designed the WKAR's Legacy of Innovation exhibit at the MSU Museum.
This exhibit was built from the ground up, starting with a survey to find out what the community was interested in, to visiting the MSU archives and storage, MSU Museum storage, and the WKAR archives to select pieces. We developed the story we wanted to tell and how to present the pieces to help tell that story.
I was part of the graphic design team that designed all the signage for the exhibit. Because WKAR already had branding for their Century of Service year-long celebration, we designed the exhibit to align with that branding.
One of the stories that really captured my attention was one of the first live broadcasts from an MSU basketball game. To help control background noise, they placed a phone booth in the gymnasium to serve as a broadcast booth. I was fortunate to rope my husband into helping build a replica phone booth for the exhibit.
