This type of stacked globe profile is called "gourd" shaped. I actually really like working these on the wheel. This was not built with stacked pieces that are fused together, but shaped entirely in one sitting on the wheel. I usually start with a rounded profile and then start collaring in the middle.
Fired at cone six, it has a full dip of Floating Blue with an additional dip of High Tide over the top half. High Tide has a tendancy to run, which creates this really organic feel of waves on a beach.
This vase is approximately 3 inches in diameter and around 4.5 inches tall.
