This bowl was actually inspired by a small bowl I saw in the Islamic Art section of the Met's collection. It was glazed with Satin Black and fired at cone 10 in a Soda kiln. Soda firing involves spraying soda ash into the kiln while it's firing. The soda ash is what gives this bowl that metallic sheen to it.

Because the soda ash is circulating, you have to raise your piece up off the shelf with little balls of wadding so it doesn't get glazed to it. Unfortunately, one of the balls of wadding got glazed to the bottom, hence the slight damage to the bottom. It doesn't impact the stability or functionality of the bowl whatsoever. Bowl measures approximately 3 inches in diameter and holds 2 ounces.
