Silly Squirrel Font

This was a project done for my Typography II class at Michigan State University. We all had to start with Baskerville, and then had a long list of prompts that we needed to follow to develop our letterforms.

You can see the development of my font below. I initially started in one directions, made some edits based on feedback from my classmates, and then when we reached the "now use your font in a book" portion of the project, I threw it out and redesigned it.

Having a font named Silly Squirrel, the logical book to create would be a book of squirrel poems. I, unfortunately, didn't have time to create artwork from scratch, but I did find artwork from two different artists on Freepik.com that I loved. I altered my font to fit the artwork, and then compiled everything. You can flip through the book to the right.
